What cookies are

Cookies are small text files saved on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work and remember your choices. Similar technologies include tracking pixels in emails, which tell us whether an email was opened.

The cookies we use

• Strictly necessary cookies keep the website working and secure. For example, they remember that you've subscribed or signed in, and they remember your cookie choices. The law doesn't require consent for these, because the site can't work properly without them.
• Analytics cookies help us understand how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us, so we can improve the site. Where the law requires your consent for these, we ask for it first through the cookie banner.
• Email tracking pixels record when you open our emails and which links you click. This runs on the consent you give when you subscribe. You can stop it by turning off automatic image loading in your email app, or by unsubscribing.

We describe cookies by type rather than listing each one, because our platform provider manages the individual cookies and may change them. You can see the cookies stored on your device at any time in your browser settings.

Who sets them

This website runs on beehiiv, so beehiiv sets most of these cookies and pixels on our behalf. We don't currently use advertising or social media tracking pixels on this site. If that changes, we'll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

The cookie banner

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you choose whether to allow non-essential cookies. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which resets your choice.

Managing cookies in your browser

• Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies in their settings or preferences.
• If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site, such as subscribing or signing in, may not work.
• To stop email open tracking, turn off automatic image loading in your email app.
